The subject is not merely a list of ideas: the methods and conditions that produce later methods, organizations and capabilities can also change.\n\nChange is not automatically progress. A new direction may become narrower, lose compatibility, cost more, remain unresolved, or prove useful much later. Contradictions, negative outcomes and dormant branches are legitimate parts of the record. Contributions do not have to become projects; programmes may revise their purpose while preserving their past.
